(ii) Go through the blog given in the text and also refer to different blogs on the internet about various social issues and environmental hazards. Now write blogs on the following topics.
Answer:-
(i) Earth with No Trees
Title: A World Without Trees: A Bleak Future
Imagine a world where the rustling of leaves is a distant memory, where the air feels heavy and lifeless. Trees are the lungs of our planet, producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide, making life possible. Without them, the Earth would face catastrophic consequences. Rainfall would diminish, leading to droughts and barren lands, as trees play a critical role in the water cycle by releasing moisture through transpiration. Soil erosion would increase, stripping away fertile land, and temperatures would soar, making habitats unlivable for many species. Wildlife would vanish, and food chains would collapse. My visit to a deforested area last summer left me shocked at the stark, lifeless landscape-a glimpse of what awaits if we don’t act. Plant trees, support reforestation, and reduce deforestation. What can you do to save our green guardians?
(ii) Say no to tobacco
Title: Kicking the Habit: Why Tobacco Must Go
Tobacco is a silent killer, claiming millions of lives yearly and wreaking havoc on public health. In India alone, it causes around 2 million deaths annually, linked to cancers, bronchitis, and heart disease. As a teenager, I’ve seen peers fall into the trap of smoking, thinking it’s “cool,” only to struggle with addiction later. Secondhand smoke endangers non-smokers, too, making it a community issue. Tobacco’s economic burden on families and healthcare systems is staggering, and its cultivation harms the environment through deforestation and chemical use. Awareness campaigns, stricter laws on tobacco sales, and health check-ups can curb this menace. Let’s say no to tobacco and yes to a healthier future. What steps can you take to spread awareness about tobacco’s dangers?
(iii) Man Vs Nature
Title: Harmony Over Conflict: Rethinking Our Bond with Nature
Humans depend on nature for food, water, air, and shelter, yet we exploit it recklessly. Deforestation, pollution, and overexploitation-like the degradation of Kenya’s Mau Forest Complex-show how greed and ignorance harm ecosystems. Nature isn’t our enemy; it’s our lifeline. Floods, tsunamis, and climate change are nature’s responses to our actions, reminding us of its power. I once volunteered in a river cleanup and saw firsthand how plastic waste chokes aquatic life. Living sustainably-reducing waste, conserving resources, and respecting wildlife-can restore balance. We must coexist with nature, not dominate it. How can we adopt eco-friendly habits in our daily lives?
(iv) Child labour : A curse to humanity
Title: Breaking the Chains of Child Labour
Child labour robs children of their childhood, education, and future. Globally, millions of children, some as young as five, work in hazardous conditions, like tobacco fields, risking health issues such as Green Tobacco Sickness. Poverty often forces families to rely on children’s income, trapping them in a cycle of exploitation. I met a young boy selling trinkets instead of attending school, and it broke my heart. Education, strict laws, and social support can protect children’s rights. Governments and citizens must work together to eradicate this curse and ensure every child has a chance to learn and grow. What can we do to support children trapped in labour?

Summary of a Blog
Blog Title: Don’t teach kids how to read, teach them why
Blogger: Terry Heick
Summary: In this blog, Terry Heick argues that traditional reading education, which focuses on teaching children the mechanics of reading, should be reconsidered. He suggests that instead of emphasizing how to read (decoding words and sentences), educators should inspire a deeper understanding of why reading matters-its value in personal growth, critical thinking, and connecting with the world. Heick proposes that reading should be treated as a practice, encouraging students to engage with texts for meaning and enjoyment rather than as a skill to master. This approach, he believes, fosters a lifelong love for learning and literacy.
