2. Show the three categories of volcanoes using the following tree diagram structure.
Answer :

3. Show the stages in the process in which Krakatoa collapsed and then Anak Krakatoa formed in the course of volcanic eruptions. Use the flowchart given below.
Answer :  1883 – Krakatoa erupted loudly, destroying itself.
After eruption – The island collapsed into the sea, forming a crater.
1927 – Smoke and ash rose from the crater.
New eruptions – Lava started flowing, creating a new island.
Anak Krakatoa – The new island formed and is still growing.


4. Draw a diagram to show how life returned to the island. Label the diagram.
(Use the technique of drawing diagrams when you study science, geography, etc.)
Answer : 

How life returns to Rakata wind, sea, and birds brought seeds of plants
aquatic plants and animals came to the coast
small animals like ants, termites, rats, lizard s travelled to the island on plants

5. Write short notes on the following :
(1) The 1883 eruption (2) The living world on Rakata
Answer : The 1883 eruption:
Krakatoa erupted with a loud explosion, heard 3500 km away in Australia.
The eruption caused tsunamis, destroying 165 villages and towns.
The island collapsed into the sea, forming a huge crater.
Ash spread around the world and settled in different places.

The living world on Rakata:
After the eruption, no life was left on the island.
In 1884, a scientist found only one spider there.
Over time, wind and sea brought seeds, and birds carried new plants.
Small animals like ants and lizards came on floating plants.
Slowly, plants and animals returned to the island.


9. Read the passage and find the verbs used with the following nouns and phrases :

Answer :  Volcano – erupts, collapses
Molten rock – rises, flows
Volcanic mountain – forms, collapses
