- In the early days, humans were nomads, meaning they moved from place to place.
- They had no stability or security.
- People realized that living in groups provided safety and support.
- They started living together and formed rules and traditions to make life more organized.
- This led to the formation of society.
2. The Social Nature of Man
- Humans are social beings.
- We like to live with others and feel happy in their company.
- Apart from food, shelter, and clothing, we also have emotional needs like love, security, and companionship.
- We feel happy when we share our joy and sad when we are alone.
- This shows that living in a society is our natural behavior.
3. Our Development in Society
- Every person is born with talents, but they develop in society.
- Language learning happens by listening to people around us.
- Thinking skills also develop as we grow up.
- Society helps us express our thoughts and emotions.
- Artists, scientists, and social workers develop their skills with the help of society.
- Encouragement from society is important for success.
4. What is Society?
- Society includes all people-men, women, children, and elderly people.
- Families, institutions, and organizations are all part of society.
- People depend on each other for basic needs like food, clothing, and security.
- A permanent system is needed for a stable society.
- Example: Farmers need tools, banks for loans, and markets for selling crops.
- The Indian Constitution says that all people are equal and have the same rights.
