1. What can you add to this ‘Do It Yourself’ list?

Students can add more things that they do on their own.

Example Answers:

  • I can make my own school bag ready.
  • I can help in watering the garden.
  • I can iron my school uniform.
  • I can tie my shoelaces properly.
  • I can clean my study table.

2. Write a short report about yourself

Students should write about their abilities and goals. Below is a sample report.

Sample Report:

Things I Can Do:

  1. I can wash my own clothes.
  2. I can ride a bicycle without support wheels.
  3. I can take care of my pet.
  4. I can cook simple food like making a sandwich.
  5. I can sweep and clean my room.

Things I Am Learning to Do:

  1. I am learning to swim properly.
  2. I am learning to sew a button on my shirt.
  3. I am learning to read time from an analog clock.

Things I Want to Learn from My Parents:

  1. I want to learn how to manage money while shopping.
  2. I want to learn how to make tea.
  3. I want to learn how to repair a torn book.

Things I Am Going to Learn in the Vacation:

  1. I am going to learn how to plant trees and take care of them.
  2. I am going to learn how to bake a cake.
  3. I am going to learn how to tie different types of knots.

Things I Love to Do:

  1. I love to help my mother in the kitchen.
  2. I love to arrange books on my bookshelf.
  3. I love to play outdoor games with my friends.

Things I Don’t Like to Do But Do Them Anyway:

  1. I don’t like to wake up early in the morning, but I do it for school.
  2. I don’t like to clean my shoes, but I do it to keep them neat.
  3. I don’t like to fold clothes, but I do it to keep my cupboard organized.

3. Interview your friends to see what they can do. Write a short report about what they can do.

Students should ask their friends about what tasks they can do and write a report. Below is an example.

Sample Interview Report:

I interviewed my friends Aarav, Priya, and Kunal to find out what they can do.

  • Aarav can ride a bicycle, wash his school uniform, and help his parents in gardening.
  • Priya can make a fruit salad, iron her school uniform, and sew a button.
  • Kunal can swim, clean the floor, and repair torn books with glue.

It was fun talking to my friends and learning what they can do. I realized that we all have different skills, and we can learn from each other!


4. Some Projects for You:

Students can do these projects at home. Below are ideas and steps.

(A) Sew a Bag

  1. Take a piece of cloth and cut it into two equal squares.
  2. Use a needle and thread to sew the sides.
  3. Attach a handle using cloth or ribbon.
  4. Your DIY bag is ready!

(B) Make a Snack

  1. Take two slices of bread.
  2. Spread butter and jam on them.
  3. Put the slices together and cut in half.
  4. Enjoy your simple sandwich!

(C) Grow a Small Garden

  1. Take a small pot and fill it with soil.
  2. Plant a seed or a small plant.
  3. Water it every day and keep it in sunlight.
  4. Watch it grow and take care of it!
