ही गोष्ट एका सिंह आणि माणसाची आहे, जे कोण श्रेष्ठ आहे यावर वाद घालतात. सिंह त्याच्या ताकदीवर गर्व करतो आणि सांगतो की तो सर्व प्राण्यांचा राजा आहे, म्हणून लोक त्याला घाबरतात.
माणूस त्याच्या बुद्धीचा अभिमान बाळगतो आणि सांगतो की माणसे सिंहापेक्षा हुशार आहेत, म्हणून ते सिंहाची शिकार करू शकतात आणि त्याला पकडू शकतात. दोघेही कोण श्रेष्ठ आहे हे सिद्ध करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात.

या गोष्टीतून आपल्याला शिकायला मिळते की कोणत्याही गोष्टीचे सत्य हे सांगणाऱ्या व्यक्तीच्या दृष्टिकोनावर अवलंबून असते.
Summary in English
This is a story about a lion and a man who argue about who is greater. The lion is proud of his strength and says that he is the king of all animals, so people fear him.
The man is proud of his intelligence and says that humans are smarter than lions, which is why they can hunt and capture lions. They both try to prove who is better.
To prove his point, the man takes the lion to a big garden and shows him a statue. The statue shows a great warrior named Hercules standing over a dead lion. The man claims that this statue proves that men are stronger than lions.
The lion quickly replies, “This statue was made by a man! If lions made statues, they would show a lion standing over a dead man.”
This story teaches us that the truth of a story depends on the storyteller’s point of view. Different people tell stories in different ways to make themselves look better.

यह कहानी एक शेर और एक आदमी की है, जो यह बहस करते हैं कि कौन अधिक शक्तिशाली है। शेर अपनी ताकत पर गर्व करता है और कहता है कि वह सभी जानवरों का राजा है, इसलिए लोग उससे डरते हैं।
आदमी अपनी बुद्धिमानी पर गर्व करता है और कहता है कि मनुष्य शेरों से अधिक होशियार हैं, इसलिए वे शेरों का शिकार कर सकते हैं और उन्हें पकड़ सकते हैं। दोनों यह साबित करने की कोशिश करते हैं कि कौन श्रेष्ठ है।
आदमी शेर को एक बड़े बगीचे में ले जाता है और उसे एक मूर्ति दिखाता है। इस मूर्ति में हर्क्युलस नाम का एक योद्धा एक मरे हुए शेर के ऊपर खड़ा है। आदमी कहता है, “यह मूर्ति साबित करती है कि आदमी शेरों से ज्यादा ताकतवर हैं।”
शेर तुरंत जवाब देता है, “यह मूर्ति आदमी ने बनाई है! अगर शेर मूर्तियाँ बनाते, तो वे शेर को जीतते हुए दिखाते।”
यह कहानी हमें यह सिखाती है कि सच्चाई बताने वाले की दृष्टि पर निर्भर करती है। हर व्यक्ति अपनी बात को सही साबित करने के लिए कहानी को अपने तरीके से बताता है।
