2. What is a Map?

  • A map is a flat drawing of the Earth’s surface.
  • It can show the whole world or a small region like a country, city, or village.
  • Maps help in finding locations, roads, and landmarks.

7. What is a Field Visit?

  • A field visit is when students go outside the classroom to study a real place.
  • It helps in understanding geographical and social conditions.
  • During a visit, students observe, ask questions, and take notes.

8. How to Prepare for a Field Visit?

  • Choose a place like a hill, sea coast, post office, railway station, or mall.
  • Make a list of questions to ask local people.
  • Observe and note down important details.

9. How are Maps Made?

  • A wire globe is made first.
  • A light source is placed inside the globe to project lines onto a paper.
  • These lines help in making a flat two-dimensional map from a three-dimensional globe.

10. What is Eartha?

  • Eartha is the largest globe in the world, located in Maine, USA.
  • It rotates and revolves at the same speed as the Earth.
