“जर्नी टू द वेस्ट” 16वीं शताब्दी में वू चेंगएन द्वारा लिखित एक प्रसिद्ध चीनी उपन्यास है। यह उपन्यास 7वीं शताब्दी के भिक्षु युआन च्वांग की भारत यात्रा पर आधारित है। युआन च्वांग बौद्ध धर्मग्रंथों को इकट्ठा करने के लिए चीन से भारत आए थे। उनकी यात्रा बहुत कठिन थी। उन्हें रेगिस्तान, बर्फ से ढके पहाड़ और डाकुओं से भरे रास्तों को पार करना पड़ा। उन्होंने 17 वर्षों तक यात्रा की और अंत में ग्रंथों को चीन वापस ले जाने में सफल रहे।
