  • “You are a thief. How can you ask for justice?”

8. Will a thief appear in court on his own? Why does this thief dare to do so?


  • No, usually thieves avoid court. But in this land, rules are illogical, so the thief dares to ask for justice.

9. Read the following sentences and find the subject and the verb in each.

✅ Corrected Active Voice Versions:

The wall collapsed and instantly killed my friend.

Someone recently built my house. The bricklayer made a mistake.

The remaining sentences are in active voice and do not need changes.

  • Thief – A robber who complains about the weak wall that killed his friend.
  • Merchant – The owner of the house where the thief’s friend died.
  • Bricklayer – The person who built the weak wall.
  • Mortar-maker – The one who mixed weak mortar for the wall.
  • Potter – The person who made the defective pot.
  • Money-lender’s Daughter – A girl whose actions distracted the potter.
  • Goldsmith – A jeweler who delayed his work due to the King’s orders.
  • Sage – The wise teacher of the disciple who comes to save him.

2. Say whether the following sentences are True or False.

  1. A thief complains about a weak wall instead of being punished for stealing.

  3. The King himself wants to be hanged because he believes it will make him king again.
