संज्ञा किसी व्यक्ति, गुण, प्राणी, व् जाति, स्थान, वस्तु, क्रिया और भाव आदि के नाम को संज्ञा (Noun) कहते हैं।

संज्ञा के प्रकार:

संज्ञा पाँच प्रकार के होते हैं:

  1. व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा (Proper Noun):वह Noun जिससे किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु या स्थान के खास नाम का बोध हो, व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा कहलाता है।

उदाहरण:

  • हरिद्वार
  • रोहन
  • गंगा
  1. जातिवाचक संज्ञा (Common Noun): वह Noun जिससे जानवर, वस्तु, स्थान और व्यक्ति के संपूर्ण जाति, वर्ग का बोध हो, जातिवाचक संज्ञा कहलाता है।

उदाहरण:

  • लड़का
  • लड़की
  • शहर
  • देश
  1. समूहवाचक संज्ञा (Collective Noun): वह Noun जिससे जानवर, व्यक्ति और वस्तु के समूह (Group) का बोध हो समूहवाचक संज्ञा कहलाता है।

उदाहरण:

  • टीम (लोगों का समूह)
  • Committee (समिति)
  • सेना (सैनिकों का समूह)
  • Crowd (भीड़)
  1. पदार्थवाचक संज्ञा (Material Noun): जिस संज्ञा या शब्द से ऐसे पदार्थ या कोई चीज का बोध होता हैं, जिससे दूसरी वस्तुएं बन सकें पदार्थवाचक संज्ञा कहलाते हैं।

उदाहरण:

  • चाँदी
  • लोहा
  • लकड़ी
  1. भाववाचक संज्ञा (Abstract Noun): जिस संज्ञा या शब्द से किसी वस्तु के गुण (Quality), अवस्था (State), कर्म (Action) का बोध हो भाववाचक संज्ञा कहलाता है।

उदाहरण:

  • ईमानदारी, बहादुरी (गुणवत्ता)
  • घृणा, हँसी (क्रिया)
  • गरीबी, युवा (राज्य)
  • ख़ुशी (Happiness)

  2. Common Noun A Common Noun is a word that refers to a general or ordinary noun, rather than a specific noun. These nouns are not capitalized unless they begin a sentence.Examples of Common Nouns:
    • Person: teacher, student, doctor
    • Place: city, beach, park
    • Thing: car, house, book
  3. Collective Noun A Collective Noun is a word used to describe a group of people, animals, or things as a single entity.Examples of Collective Nouns:
    • People: audience, family, team
    • Animals: herd, pack, swarm
  4. Material Noun A Material Noun is a type of noun that is used to refer to materials or substances from which things are made.Examples of Material Nouns:
    • Wood: used to make furniture, houses, etc.
    • Steel: used to make buildings, cars, etc.
    • Gold: used to make jewelry, coins, etc.
  5. Abstract Noun An Abstract Noun is a type of noun that refers to intangible concepts, ideas, qualities, or states that cannot be perceived by the five senses.Examples of Abstract Nouns:
    • Love: a deep affection or strong positive emotion.
    • Happiness: a state of joy or contentment.
    • Courage: the ability to face fear or danger.
