  2. Maha Vir Chakra (MVC):
    • Description: The second-highest military award for wartime gallantry.
    • Criteria: Awarded for acts of extraordinary gallantry in the face of the enemy.
    • Design: A silver medal with a five-pointed star and a domed gilded center with the state emblem.
  3. Vir Chakra (VrC):
    • Description: The third-highest military award for bravery in the face of the enemy.
    • Criteria: Awarded for acts of gallantry in the presence of the enemy.
    • Design: A circular silver medal with a five-pointed star, with the state emblem in the center.

Peacetime Gallantry Awards:

  1. Ashoka Chakra:
    • Description: The highest peacetime military decoration awarded for valor, courageous action, or self-sacrifice away from the battlefield.
    • Criteria: Awarded for the most conspicuous bravery or some act of daring or pre-eminent act of valor or self-sacrifice other than in the face of the enemy.
    • Design: A circular gold-gilded medal with the Ashoka Chakra in the center.
  2. Kirti Chakra:
    • Description: The second-highest peacetime gallantry award.
    • Criteria: Awarded for conspicuous gallantry otherwise than in the face of the enemy.
    • Design: A silver medal with a starburst pattern and the state emblem in the center.
  3. Shaurya Chakra:
    • Description: The third-highest peacetime gallantry award.
    • Criteria: Awarded for gallantry otherwise than in the face of the enemy.
    • Design: A circular bronze medal with a five-pointed star and the state emblem in the center.
