A candidate willing to apply for SBI PO must be from one of the below-listed categories:
The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India
SBI PO Educational Qualification
As per the SBI PO Educational Qualification, the candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government.
Final-year/semester students may apply on a provisional basis, provided they can present proof of their graduation passing if selected for an interview.
Candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that their date of passing the IDD is on. Those holding qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, etc., are also eligible to apply.
SBI PO Age Limit
The candidate must be 21 to 30 Years i.e. candidates must be or above 21 years and should be or below 30 Years. This is in case of General category candidates. Candidates must have been born between 02.04.1995 and 01.04.2004, inclusive of both dates. The candidates belonging to reserved category have been provided age relaxation as mentioned in the table below.

The SBI has established certain guidelines regarding the number of attempts allowed for the SBI PO examination. These guidelines are designed to ensure fairness in the selection process and to give candidates a reasonable number of opportunities to compete for the prestigious role of a Probationary Officer. Validity of Attempts:
The number of attempts is generally counted from the year when the candidate first appears for the SBI PO exam. If a candidate exceeds the allowed number of attempts, they may not be eligible to apply for the examination in subsequent years.

SBI PO Percentage Criteria
When filling out the application form for the SBI PO exam, applicants can comply to the SBI PO Percentage Criteria, as marks are evaluated based on this. Candidates with a CGPA or OGPA must convert their grades into percentages for consideration.
While candidates with a graduation percentage below 60% are still eligible to apply, it is important to note that the calculated percentage will be rounded down; for instance, 59.99% will be considered less than 60%, and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

The increased SBI PO salary is one of the major reasons for candidates to get into the banking domain, apart from security, lucrative perks, and allowances. The initial basic salary offered to an SBI Probationary Officer (Junior Management Grade Scale-I) is Rs. 56,480 (Rs. 48,480 + advanced increments). As per the revised Bipartite Settlement with four advance increments, the compensation size of a Probationary Officer is 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. The maximum basic salary for a probationary officer in the SBI bank can be Rs. 85920.
