SSC JHT Tier 2 Syllabus
The SSC JHT Tier 2 Syllabus consists of a descriptive exam featuring four questions. This paper is designed to
assess candidates’ skills in both translation and essay writing. Specifically, candidates will need to translate
passages from one language to another and write essays on given topics. The purpose of this paper is to assess their
proficiency in understanding and expressing ideas in the target language, as well as their ability to communicate
complex thoughts clearly and effectively in writing.
Translation
- Translate one passage from Hindi to English.
- Translate one passage from English to Hindi.
Essay
- Write one essay in Hindi on a given topic.
- Write one essay in English on a different given topic.
SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring candidates have to fulfil the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age
limit for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator.
Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either: (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a subject of Nepal, or (iii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iv) a
person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the
United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to
permanently settle in India.
Educational Qualifications
The minimum Educational Qualification for the SSC JHT Exam is a Master’s degree in relevant subjects. Check the

Age Limit
The age limit of the eligible candidates must be 18 to 30 years. For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, candidates’ age must be between 18 to 30 years. However, the government provides some Age Relaxation in every exam. The guidelines below are the Age Relaxation for the SSC JHT Exam.
