Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the system administrator is to support procurement, maintenance, accounting, demonstration, use, and documentation of (the working of) all computing equipment, software tools, and computing-related consumables in the Teaching Laboratories, Research Laboratories, office, and other areas of CPDM, and supporting websites, experiments, demonstrations and projects that involve use of computing facilities. The responsibilities include the following: (a) General computer system administration (of Servers and clients) (b) Office network management (c) Automated backups of databases, applications, and system configurations (d) Tuning scheduled jobs on the servers for optimal performance and consistency, etc.
