ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for entry into the MPA, you need to have:
An Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline.
IELTS (Academic) Overall score 6.5 (no band less than 6.0), or equivalent.
The Master of Professional Accounting course comprises 14 core units and 2 elective units (240 credit points). Each unit is worth 15 credit points, and full-time students undertake four units per trimester.
As you progress through your course, your knowledge will become more focussed on your chosen course. This is put into action in your final year industry-based project.
Program structures and units are subject to change through the process of regular course revision. There is no guarantee that every unit will be offered in any particular trimester.
*Additional Fees
MA501 Foundations of Accounting and MA509 Accounting Information Systems utilise cloud-based accounting software. When studying these units, the student will incur a fee per unit (currently $33) for access to the cloud-based accounting software. The student is responsible for payment of the fee.
*Industry Experience
It is mandatory for awarding of the Master of Professional Accounting degree that the students undertake the final trimester MA618 Industry Based Capstone Project unit. If a third party is required to find a project for the student, the student will incur a fee (currently $330). The industry-based project is designed to provide students with real-world experience, working for an industry client on a project focussed within their discipline of study.

Governance
The Board of Directors is the governing authority of MIT and is responsible for overseeing the higher education operations and the general direction and superintendence of the Institute. The board includes a majority of independent members along with representatives of the owners of the company and the executive management. External and internal members play a significant role in the Board with the external members bringing expertise and experience not represented in MIT. This is balanced by the presence of internal members who are the key internal stakeholders and these individuals where responsible for bringing MIT to the position it is today.
