Here you will find more information on programs, how to apply, and what to expect for your studies at Northern College.
Admission requirements, including English proficiency, and other important information for each program, can be found on specific program pages.
When you are ready to apply, go to OCAS International to submit your documentation so we can review your application.
How to Apply
Step 1: Apply through OCAS International.
A non-refundable application fee of $100 will apply. Submit the following documents with your OCAS application:
- Official transcripts for any education completed (or in-progress) outside and/or in Canada.
- An official copy of your valid passport and study permit (if you already have these documents).
- Proof of English Proficiency test results from IELTS (academic), TOEFL or PTE required by the specific program.
Note: Documents submitted to OCAS for education completed outside of Canada must be notarized copies. A certified English translation must be accompanied if the original documents are not in English.

Step 2: Accept Your Offer
Letters of Acceptance are sent directly to accepted students through the OCAS International Application Service (IAS), where you submitted your application. To proceed with your registration, please ensure you accept your offer and pay your deposit by the deadline indicated.
Step 3: Review Your Letter of Acceptance
Your Letter of Acceptance includes tuition details and registration deadlines. Please refer to the Fee Structure section for the first payment due date.
Step 4: Make a Payment to Complete Registration
Visit our Tuition & Payments page for instructions on making a payment whether from outside of Canada with Flywire or from within Canada from a Canadian Bank. Registration deadlines and tuition information can be found on your Offer of Admission letter under the Fee Structure section for the first payment due information.
Admission Requirements To be eligible for admission to a Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate Program you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and required courses as noted on specific program pages.
Equivalencies:
- Upper Secondary School Certificate with a minimum grade of 6.5 in relevant subjects
- English Proficiency requirements as outlined below.
- Students must submit scanned copies of the original certified secondary school transcripts for diploma programs and college or university transcripts for postgraduate programs.
- All documents must be accompanied by a notarized English translation.

Tuition and fees are typically updated yearly in May for the upcoming Fall intake Academic Year.

Ancillary Fees
Ancillary fees vary by campus and support aspects of your experience as a Northern College student, such as Student Associations, Athletic Facilities, and Health Benefits.
Ancillary fees are paid in full for the entire academic year in the first semester.
Fees due may differ from information on the website. Fees listed on the website are for a typical full-time Fall intake program. Fees for winter or spring intake may differ. Refer to your official student records for payments due.
The Convocation and Official Documentation Fee (GRA) of $100.00 only applies for the first year of each program.

International Student Entrance Scholarships
New international students from all over the world in select programs starting in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 intake at Northern College may be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Scholarship Value: $2,000 CAD per recipient See below for more details.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, international students must meet the following requirements:

- 65 scholarships will be awarded to the eligible applicants admitted to one of the college’s eligible Engineering, Technology, or Trades programs (ETT programs).
- 50 scholarships will be awarded to the eligible applicants who applied to non-ETT programs.

3. Academic Performance and English Proficiency
Scholarships will be rescinded if:
- Any application documents are found to be fraudulent.
- The students do not pay their first-year full tuition and ancillary fees by the start of the semester.
- Students do not enroll at Northern College
