Estimated tuition fees for the academic year 2025-2026

As an international student, you will receive basic tuition fees as well as additional fees, in accordance with the policy regarding tuition fees required of foreign students at the universities of Québec . The tuition fees are supplemented by other fees required.

The free student or visitor must pay tuition fees according to his or her status and the number of credits to which he or she is enrolled.

If you are an international student in situation of disability or having special needs , you may have to assume some additional fees generated by these special services. It is therefore important to communicate with the Bureau of Support for Students in Situation of Disability before your arrival in order to evaluate the possibility of offering you the accommodation measures necessary for your situation.

If you are a French student or Belgian francophone , you benefit from special rates. ATTENTION : Certain étudiant(e)s de l’international, including les étudiant(e)s français(es), are entitled to additional exemptions for étudiant(e)s de l’international.

Amount of the scholarship

Fees for the 2024-2025 academic year. Please note that the amounts indicated below are in Canadian dollars.

Undergraduate programs

You could benefit from the UdeM exemption scholarship if you are admitted to a degree program, namely a bachelor’s degree.

The excellence of your academic record is the only evaluation criterion to determine the value of the scholarship. This assessment is made based on the transcripts provided during the admission application. The results of the assessment will determine the amount to which you may be entitled. If after the assessment, your file does not qualify for level A or B, you will not benefit from the UdeM exemption scholarship.

To support you in your graduate studies, a partial exemption scholarship from the additional tuition fees normally charged to international students is available.

This exemption bursary allows you to benefit from the same tuition fees as Québec graduate studies students.

What level of French is required to participate to the Intensive University French Program?

The Intensive University French Program is exclusively intended for university students who meet level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). Visit the “Admission requirements” page for more information.

How do I know the level of French proficiency required by my program?

Not all programs of study require the same level of French knowledge. To find this information, see the description page for the program of your interest under the “Admission et exigences” tab. Once you’ve determined your level, you must take the steps to send a attestation of results from one of the tests or diplomas accepted by the Université de Montréal.

Is financial assistance available for this program?

This program is not eligible for any scholarship or financial assistance. However, UdeM does offer its students a large number of scholarships. Refer to the “Program dates and cost” section to learn about the various forms of funding available after the Intensive University French Program.

Do I receive official certification after taking the Intensive University French Program?

You will not receive an official certificate at the end of this program. This program has been designed exclusively for those who would like to study at the Université de Montréal.

Can I take this program if my study program requires level C1 or C2 French?

To date, the program is not designed for you to demonstrate level C1 or C2 French proficiency. You will be able to take part, but at the end of the Intensive University French Program, you will have to continue intensive French to advance from level B2 to level C1.

How long is the success of the intensive university French program valid for?

The Université de Montréal considers the results of the program to be valid, provided that it has been successfully completed within the 24 months preceding the start of your study program.
