Campuses

At the University of Toronto, our students, faculty and staff study, work and live on three campuses, and we are all part of one university community.

With some of the most prestigious architecture and beautiful green space in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), U of T offers an extraordinary backdrop to learn, work, and thrive. We are situated in one of the world’s most vibrant urban environments. Ranked the most diverse city in North America, Toronto and the surrounding GTA are dynamic, inviting cities, with something for everyone. Students can choose to study at one of the three vibrant campuses – St. George (downtown Toronto), Mississauga and Scarborough.

Mississauga Campus

Established in 1967, the University of Toronto Mississauga is U of T’s second largest division with a student population of just over 16,700.

Home to 15 academic departments, an Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology, 180 programs and 90 areas of study, U of T Mississauga offers undergraduate and interdisciplinary graduate studies programs. The campus also boasts a vibrant research environment and many of its faculty and researchers are recognized internationally for their innovative work.

Mississauga Campus features award-winning facilities situated on 225 acres of protected greenbelt along the Credit River, just 33 kilometres west of St. George (Toronto) Campus. You may even spot some deer on campus!

St. George Campus

St. George Campus blends historical architecture, modern facilities, and inviting green spaces as a backdrop to a truly diverse and remarkable community. It is the largest of U of T’s campuses and has a student population of over 68,400.

Set in the centre of Toronto, one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse cities, U of T St. George is a place where students, staff and faculty engage with academic life and still join the fun in countless co-curricular activities.

Just beyond campus, you can find the global neighbourhoods, exciting events, and innovative industries that Toronto has to offer. From Nuit Blanche, a dusk-to-dawn annual art festival, to sports games at the Varsity Centre’s high-performance facilities, this campus is intrinsically linked with the city’s renowned cultural offerings to create a rich and unique experience for all.

Scarborough Campus

Experiential education is the hallmark of the University of Toronto Scarborough. Over 14,600 students are members of this inclusive and warm campus environment. With over 250 program options, numerous clubs, and events, your mind will be challenged inside and outside the classroom.

Students get a head start on their futures through U of T’s only co-op program as well as internships, hands-on research, community engagement and a vibrant campus life.

Located right next to popular natural landmarks in Toronto’s greenest area, the Scarborough Campus is experiencing dynamic growth. To support the needs of our community, U of T Scarborough will equip the region’s future health-care practitioners through the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH), scheduled to open in 2026.

Tuition and Fees

Your tuition covers your class fees, but you must also remember to budget for expenses such as books, living expenses, and additional fees specific to your program.

International Students

The majority of our admission scholarships for international undergraduate applicants are automatically awarded as a part of the admissions review process. The two major admission awards are the University of Toronto Scholars Program and President’s Scholars of Excellence Program. No separate application is required as they are merit-based. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship

International secondary applicants may also be considered for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship program if nominated by their high school. This scholarship program is intended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement who are recognized as leaders within their school.

International Scholar Awards

The International Scholar Awards are automatically awarded to exceptional international students across U of T’s largest divisions and faculties. These renewable awards are offered upon admission and have a total value of over $100,000.

International Merit Admission Award

Offered upon admission to selected international students in the Faculty of Arts & Science(external link) on the basis of merit. Students are automatically considered for this award, which is valued at up to $50,000 over four consecutive years, or until degree completion, whichever comes first (up to $20,000 in the first year and renewable for $10,000 in the second, third and fourth years). This award is not renewable for students admitted to the Faculty of Arts & Science prior to 2023.

Beyond our admission scholarships, University of Toronto students have access to over 5,900 in-course scholarships every year. We recommend international students use the Award Explorer(external link) by selecting the appropriate filters to view other scholarships that may be available to you.

FAQ

1) How much does it cost to study at U of T?

Your university fees consist of tuition, incidental and ancillary fees, and are based on several factors. In addition, you’ll want to consider other costs such as books, supplies, residence, transportation, food and other expenses.

2) How do I apply for Financial Aid?

If you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, there are many sources of financial aid available to help you cover the costs of your University of Toronto education – from OSAP and other government aid, to assistance provided by the University.

If you are an international applicant, you should find out about your home country’s financial aid programs to see if you qualify for assistance. The University of Toronto is a publicly-funded institution and because of that cannot offer financial aid to international students.

3) I’m an international applicant, can I receive financial assistance from U of T?

The University of Toronto is a publicly-funded institution and because of that cannot offer financial aid to international students. If you are an international applicant, you should find out about your home country’s financial aid programs to see if you qualify for assistance.

4) How do I apply for OSAP?

Apply online at https://www.ontario.ca/osap

Submit your OSAP application, then print and sign the consents and declaration pages – and any other required supporting documentation – and upload to your account on the OSAP website.

Follow the instructions provided to complete your online Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) with the National Student Loan Service Centre.

If you are a returning applicant you may not need to submit any documentation.

5) How do I apply for Scholarships?

Eligible high school students are automatically considered for a variety of admission scholarships when they apply to the University. There are also admissions scholarships that require a separate application, and others that require you to complete an awards profile.

Note, however, that the value of scholarships is rarely sufficient to cover all costs the student will incur while attending University of Toronto.
