1. Arden’s face-to-face learning is active, not passive.

We believe that sitting in lecture halls being talked at for hours is not the best way to absorb knowledge. Arden’s learning model is about interaction, discussion and application of knowledge, allowing you to fully understand the material in depth. Furthermore, our tutors only responsibility with Arden University is to teach students, not to work on research. Their sole purpose is to support you and help you succeed. Our story

Arden University was brought to life from our ambition to give all people equal opportunities for higher education. We began our journey in 1990 as the chosen online delivery partner for traditional universities, and have been evolving since. In 2014, we earned taught-degree awarding powers, and now very proudly award our own degrees.

One year later, we officially became Arden University – one of the few specialist online learning universities to launch in the last 50 years.

Partnership models

Please see below an overview of the current partnership models available. Arden University retains full responsibility for academic standards and the student experience across all its partnership models.

Progression Agreement

• An arrangement where an organisation refers students from a specific programme of study delivered by the organisation for admission to a programme of study at Arden University.

Infrastructure Service Provider

• An arrangement where a partner institution provides one or more infrastructure elements to support programme delivery by Arden University, such as provision of premises, or particular learning resources and facilities.

Recognised Study Centre Partner

• An arrangement where a partner institution is authorised to provide the infrastructure and study centre resources to students Arden University programmes who are in the UK or overseas. This could include library and study facilities, local pastoral support, work-based learning sessions, study skills workshops, English language support, and other local services.

Franchise Partner

• An arrangement where a partner institution is authorised to deliver and assess Arden University programmes either in part or in whole.

Dual Award Partner

• An arrangement through which a partner institution is authorised to deliver, assess, and award a separate part of study on a dual programme (in English language, except where otherwise authorised by Arden University).

At Arden we believe that costs shouldn’t be a barrier to personal development, which is why we’ve made sure our tuition fees are lower than those of traditional universities. Undergraduate online learning (international)

Self-funding

• To secure your place on your course, you’ll be required to pay a holding fee, the value of which varies from course to course. You will be advised of the holding fee for your chosen course during application.
• If you decide to enrol on a course at Arden, you’ll be required to either agree to a payment plan for your course fees or pay the full yearly fee (6 modules) up front. At the start of each academic year, you’ll be asked to confirm how you intend to fund your studies and be given the choice between these two options once again.

Pay in full

• If you have the available funds to go this route, you can either pay for your Arden course one year at a time or all in one go. The fees payable for the course will need to be settled prior to your enrolment.
• We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx), or bank transfers via our payment partner Flywire.
• The holding fee paid will be deducted from the total amount payable for the first year of study.

• You can also choose to enter a payment plan for each year of study, which can be established with your student recruitment advisor prior to your enrolment.

Fees & Funding FAQs

What do the fees include?

• Our course fees cover all the study materials you need, student handbooks, 24/7 access to our virtual learning environment and career portal, as well as dedicated support from both your tutor and student support coordinator.
• We host examinations for our online learning students in Coventry, which is included within our course fees. International students who can’t make it to Coventry must find a suitable local exam venue, which may charge a fee. We’re here to help you find and arrange this, and have a list of approved exam centres worldwide, such as colleges, universities, and British Council offices.

How do I pay?

• You can pay for your course using our Online Payment Gateway through credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, UK Maestro), bank transfer, or PayPal (if you’re paying in GBP). Unfortunately, we’re currently unable to accept Amex cards for payment.

Is there a charge for international bank transfers?

• This is usually the case. As we need to receive your payment in full, please discuss this with your bank before making the transfer. They can inform you about the transfer fee and ensure we receive the full amount.

Where is the campus located and what courses do you offer?

Our campus is in the Potsdamer Platz area of Berlin, with great public transport links to and from other parts of the city. You’ll be studying in Berlin’s International Business District, close to the German headquarters of several major corporations.

We provide a range of bachelor’s, master’s, and MBA courses, all taught in English language, and covering areas including business, finance, information technology, human resource management, project management, healthcare, marketing, and more.

Are your courses recognised and accredited?

Yes they are. Your degree will be awarded by Arden University in the UK, and our courses are fully accredited by professional organisations such as the CMI (Chartered Management Institute).

How do I apply?

Applying for a course here is simple and only takes a few minutes of your time! All you need to do is fill out an application form for your chosen course (which you can find on the relevant course page on this site) and one of our enrolment advisors will get in touch with you. If you meet all the entry requirements for the course, our admissions team will make you an offer. A holding fee will be required to secure your place at Arden University Berlin.

Do you provide financial support or scholarships?

Yes we do. We have a number of scholarship options available, as well as payment plans which allow you to spread the cost of your course in regular instalments. All students are required to pay a holding fee of 2,500 euros to secure a place on their course.

Why should I study in Berlin?

Berlin is one of Europe’s most popular destinations for overseas students, and studying with Arden University Berlin will help you gain the skills you need to advance your career while experiencing life in a city filled with opportunities, and even learning a new language if you choose to! Germany’s affordable cost of living is another reason why many international students choose Berlin over other European capitals.

Germany also has very favourable working conditions for international students. You’ll be able to work a total of 140 days per year (or 240 half days) while you are studying, and after graduation you’ll also benefit from an 18-month post-study residence permit, which allows you to explore even more job opportunities in Germany.

Will I need a visa to study in Germany?

Most students coming to Germany from outside the European Union will need to apply for a Student Visa to study long-term (longer than 90 days). You can find out more about applying for your German Student  Visa here.

How much time will I spend studying each week?

Generally, you’ll be studying a minimum of 33.5 hours per week – 8 hours in the classroom and a minimum of 25.5 hours independent online study.

How much support will I receive while I’m studying?

Our Student Support team are here to make sure that you have all the information and help you need to complete your course successfully. This includes help with any administrative questions you may have, how to sign up to our free German language classes, help with visa-related issues, and much more.

Because we understand that moving overseas to start a new life as an international student brings its own set of challenges, our support team are also here to discuss and manage any personal issues you have which could potentially affect your studies.
